Google has made it clear that HTTPS websites are no longer necessary for only those in ecommerce. Starting in late summer to fall 2018, Google Chrome will be calling out all “insecure” websites by clearly displaying a “NOT SECURE” message in their browser bar for all websites that have not taken the time to batten down the hatches and secure their virtual presence.
