There are over 600 million Instagrammers with 400 million of those active on the social media site every single day. Over 120 million of those Instagrammers visited a website, received directions, emailed, called or sent a direct message to a business to learn more about them based on a brand’s Instagram ad in March 2017.

Driving traffic to your website from Instagram can still be a struggle. Here are three easy tactics you can implement today to move more Instagrammers to your site:

Put a Link in Your Bio

The easiest way to earn more clicks is to include a link back to one of your web pages in your bio. This is particularly important as organic Instagram posts cannot be clicked on their own.

You can encourage Instagrammers to check out your bio and click a link by including comments like:

  • Click the link in our bio to find out more about this product!
  • Follow the link in our bio to get 10% off today!
  • Click the link in our bio to shop for XXXX

Run an Ad Campaign on Instagram

While your organic posts may not be clickable, Instagram ads are. That ad can lead Instagrammers to any web page of your choosing. Instagram also includes a “Learn More” button on the ad which can help increase your click-through rate.

Another benefit to having an Instagram ad campaign is that the ads can be targeted at specific individuals based on a variety of factors including age, gender, relationship status, education level, location and more.

Link Instagram Story Updates

Organic Instagram Stories are linkable if you have verified your account.  Once linked, a little arrow at the post that says “See More” will be included at the bottom. Instagrammers can then swipe up to be taken to another web page of your choosing.
