It’s not surprise you can find just about any type of online content on Pinterest. And just like a search engine, you can go on this photo-sharing site millions of boards covering thousands of topics. Often times, it’s difficult to keep up or to know where to begin. So Pinterest released a new mobile feature that helps avid Pinterest users find what they’re searching for and it’s called, “Guided Search.”

As noted in Pinterest’s blog post:

Search engines are great for answering specific questions—the weather in San Francisco or the capital of Peru—but Pinterest can help with the questions that have more than one right answer. Where’s your next vacation or what’s for dinner tonight? With so many possibilities, you might not know the best one till you see it.

Guided Search helps users find the best ideas, even if the user isn’t sure what he or she is looking for. It’s a tool that allows the user to search for a topic such as ‘cookies’ and see a breakdown of different suggestions: recipes, healthy, chocolate, Christmas, etc. When the user taps on the provided guides, Pinterest can help steer the search in the right direction. The important thing Pinterest would like users to know is that it helps narrow your search while allowing you to discover new content. Exploring getaway ideas might lead you to a treehouse adventure, a motorcycle trip down the coast, or maybe even something else you didn’t know you were looking for. You might be surprised where you end up!

The new feature is currently being rolled out on mobile and will soon be available on web all over the world soon. What do you think of Pinterest’s new search feature? Have you seen success with sharing content on Pinterest lately?
