Facebook | 8.28.13
Yesterday, we posted a quick summary of the latest Facebook changes that have happened in the last couple of weeks. On the very same day, Facebook managed to make another announcement: Businesses will no longer need a third-party app to post an offer or promotion on their Facebook page.
In an official blog post, Facebook explains that businesses can now administer promotions directly through the page instead. This will allow them to collect entries by having users post on the Page, message the Page, or like/comment a particular post.
Facebook also announced a restriction on tagging to better preserve the accuracy of Page promotions. The post mentions that, “in order to maintain the accuracy of Page content, our Pages Terms now prohibit Pages from tagging or encouraging people to tag themselves in content that they are not actually depicted in.”
