WordStream recently dug deeper into the average click-through rate (CTR) of Facebook ads across a number of industries, including Apparel, Home Improvement, Retail and Beauty. The results of their research may surprise you.
CTRs Vary From Industry to Industry
The research showed that CTRs varied from between 0.5% to 1.6%.
According to the results, these industries had the highest CTRs:
- Legal: 1.61%
- Retail: 1.59%
- Apparel: 1.24%
- Beauty: 1.16%
- Fitness: 1.01%
It is surprising that the legal industry took the top spot. One reason why legal ads had the highest CTR may be because these ads often feature high value offers such as free legal consultations and complimentary estate planning kits.
Advertisers in industries like retail, apparel, beauty and fitness likely have higher CTRs because these companies know that Facebook is a highly visual platform. Marketers only use high-quality images of products on Facebook which include beautiful models and gorgeous scenery.
